The smart answer here, she was pretty sure, was no. In general the foundation did a really good job of keeping her in the dark, but she still heard things. And one of the things she'd overheard was amnestics. The guard who'd let that one drop has been shut up in quick order so there'd been no explanation, but it wasn't hard to guess based on the sound of it. And if they weren't going to kill her, dosing her to forget what had happened seemed like a good next step.

On the other hand, she was hungry. Hadn't really noticed until the woman had asked, but now that she had the feeling was bobbing to the front of her mind like a buoy. Plus she could smell the woman's coffee, and it was amazing.

"Yeah, I would," she said. Hell, maybe forgetting wouldn't be so bad. She wouldn't have to think about what they were probably doing to the man who'd helped her. "Coffee'd be great. And something to eat, especially anything that isn't nutrient gruel."
